How To Make Beeramisu

By

Beeramisu - A Delicious Beer Dessert

An interesting take on the classic Italian dessert Tiramisu this incorporates beer and dessert…..a definite way to a man’s heart!   It’s also a great way to my heart as it tastes absolutely divine, a great dessert to end a dinner party on.

Now for presentation I usually serve this in glasses and depending on the glassware I use it usually does 6-8 glasses, but I do like my dessert :)

Beeramisu Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients –

6 eggs

¼ cup caster sugar

500g mascarpone

1 cup chocolate stout

½ cup brewed coffee

24 sponge fingers

cocoa or finely grated chocolate

Beeramisu Directions

Now how to put this all together to produce a delicious beeramisu?

Step one is to separate your eggs.

Step two is to beat the egg yolks and caster sugar together until they are thick and pale, then mix in the mascarpone.

Step three is to beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks and then carefully fold them into the mascarpone mixture. Do be careful and not let all the air disappear as you want the dessert to taste nice and light.

Step four is to mix the stout and coffee together, now I’m guessing any stout will do, but I like using a double chocolate stout. Dunk the sponge fingers into the liquid quickly, don’t leave them in their too long as they go soggy really quickly.

Step five is to layer the sponge fingers into the glasses (or whatever you’re planning to serve your beeramisu in) and top with a thick layer of the mascarpone mixture. Continue layering them until you run out of room in the glass or ingredients to use.

Step six is to refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors marinate nicely and then decorate. Now you could sift cocoa on top which looks nice or I personally use some finely grated chocolate

More Beer Desserts

Of course a really basic beer dessert is a Stout Float, take your Stout of choice and add a scoop of ice cream.   Personally I haven’t tried this myself, but I’m assured it tastes delicious…..it’s certainly an easier dessert to make than the beeramisu!!
