Mocktails for Christmas

Christmas Mocktails

As much as I love cocktails at Christmastime, sometimes it’s nice to enjoy a non-alcoholic cocktail otherwise known as a Mocktail. If you’re looking for a great Christmas mocktail recipe then you’ve come to the right place because we have some delicious Christmas mocktail reipes right here.

Cherries always remind me of Christmas as growing up we would often spend Boxing Day at one of my aunties and there are two things I remember about the day – her homemade pickled eggs and Black Forest Gateau! Many, many years later and cherries still remind me of Christmas which brings us to my first Christmas Mocktail – the Creamy Cherry Smoothie.

Creamy Cherry Smoothie

2 cups cherries

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 liter orange juice

Ice cubes

Place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth then serve in some festive Christmas glasses.

Another mocktail that I’ve come across for Christmas is actually one that I haven’t tried myself you see although I love the smell of cinnamon I’m not a big fan of the flavour. A lot of people do associate cinnamon with Christmas and if you’re one of them you will love the Cinnamon Holidaytini.

Cinnamon Holidaytini

1 oz apple juice

2 oz cranberry juice

Small piece of cinnamon

Pop all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake really well before straining into a martini glass to serve. To add a festive touch you can hook a candy cane over the glass as a garnish.

Eggnog is a classic Christmas drink and there are a number of different variations on both the alcoholic and non alcoholic recipes. I particularly like the sound of this Coffee Eggnog and might make it this holiday season instead of my usual berry eggnog.

Coffee Eggnog

2 eggs, separated

1/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup instant coffee

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 cups milk, chilled

1 cup whipped cream

Shaved chocolate for a garnish

  1. There are a few steps to this recipe so bear with me (it is Christmas) –
  2. In a small bowl use an electric mixer to beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks.
  3. In a large bowl beat the egg yolks until they become a pale yellow color, almost like lemon.
  4. Into the large bowl gradually add the coffee, vanilla extract and milk along with ¾ cup of water while still beating.
  5. Now fold in the egg white mixture and the whipped cream
  6. Pop into the fridge until you’re ready to serve and then add the shaved chocolate on top of each glass you serve it in.

If you’re still not satisfied with any of these festive holiday mocktails then what about enjoying a simple Winter Holiday Mocktail.

Winter Holiday Mocktail

2 oz passionfruit juice

2 oz mango juice

1 oz papaya juice

1 tsp grenadine

Pop the fruit juices into a cocktail shaker filled with crushed ice and shake well. Strain into a martini glass and top with 1 tsp grenadine which adds a lovely festive red color to the drink.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these holiday mocktails, if you’re after a few more non-alcoholic drinks then you should check out my mocktails page.
