Shatter Nail Polishes by OPI

When Katy Perry released her OPI Nail Polish Collection the lynchpin of the collection – black shatter – was sold out faster than stores could re-order stocks. The latest shatter nail polish from OPI looks (in my opinion) to be even better and yet the fanfare hasn’t been nearly as big.

Black Shatter gives a great look of basically a black crackle over the top of whatever color nail polish you put on first. The second shatter nail polish by OPI is part of their Pirates of the Caribbean collection and is Silver Shatter. Well I haven’t long brought my daughter the black shatter and now she wants the silver one as well!

It is very easy to use these shatter nail polishes and the effects are fantastic. First you need to choose a base color to apply and this doesn’t have to be an OPI nail polish, use whatever color you like to use.

Purple looks fantastic with the Black Shatter and dd has also used turquoise with it which looks sensational.

Once the base color is dry add the black shatter over the top, in less than a minute you’ll see your nail undergoing a transformation and the result is as in these two pictures.

I was very impressed with how easy it was to use the Black Shatter and my daughter thinks I’m just the best mom ever to buy her a bottle!

I think the Silver Shatter will be even better with some colors and if I had seen them both for sale at the same time I would probably have gone for the silver.

My daughter now wants to get all of her friends over for a sleepover where they just happen to 'have' to do their nails - I might have to call it 'Shatter Time!'

Nail art was never as easy as creating the crackle look on your nails with OPI’s shatter polishes.
